Adapters have fuses for protection and NTC at the input AC supply. Now at power surges these get destroyed and needs to be replaced. Follow this below video to watch how to repair such adapters

You need to understand how switchboards work . Differenet components usage and connections. Components like fuses, MOV, indicators, sockets, switches, regulators are to be used and one must understand how to use them in circuit. So following is a video tutorial on making such a switch box.

A switchbox

Now as we build a switchbox we use regulators to control speed of fan. Here we will see how to increase the power handling capacity of such regulators. They use triacs and we will see how to upgrade it.

Similarly there are extension boards which are too needed to be discussed here. The following video will take into it's inside

Electric Drill: We all have used it in our works. But if someone has just recently bought it and doesn't know all the features and how to use it properly he/she can watch this video on using a drill below here.

Now we electronic engineers use multimeters in our works. One must learn to use it. In below videos we show two multimeters, UNI-T and another one from Keysight. We are presenting unboxing and review video that can be seen below:

Now comes the soldering iron. Soldering iron is one of the highest used hand tool for electronic and electrical engineers. It supplies heat to melt solder so that it can flow into the joint between two workpieces. A soldering iron is composed of a heated metal tip and an insulated handle. Heating is often achieved electrically, by passing an electric current (supplied through an electrical cord or battery cables) through a resistive heating element. Cordless irons can be heated by combustion of gas stored in a small tank, often using a catalytic heater rather than a flame. Simple irons less commonly used today than in the past were simply a large copper bit on a handle, heated in a flame. Soldering irons are most often used for installation, repairs, and limited production work in electronics assembly. High-volume production lines use other soldering methods.Types of soldering iron:
  • Simple iron
  • Cordless iron
  • Temperature-controlled soldering iron
  • Soldering station
  • Soldering tweezers
  • Hot knife
Soldron Irons are very good quality products. You should learn to keep your bit of your iron clean. There are lot of videos on it.

Miscellaneous Tools As hardware engineer you need various tools and kits to make your work easier and make a good finished product or repair a product with proficiency. Some of the tools you should keep are:

  • Wire Cutter
  • Wire Stripper
  • Scissors
  • Insulation tape
  • Screw Driver Set
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • File
  • PCB Ruler/Scale
  • Magnifine Glass
  • Acetone
  • Sand Paper
  • Calculator
  • Pliers
  • Heat Sink Compound
  • Measuring Tape
  • Tweezers

Obviously there are lot more, but these are the basic things which you may need.

Always keep a collection of screws, nuts, bolts, washers, screw holders, etc, from anywhere you may get. You'll never know when the time comes to use a particular one.

Last but not the least, comes the Digital Storage Oscilloscope (DSO). Soldering iron is one of the highest used hand tool for electronic and electrical engineers. It supplies heat to melt solder so that it can flow into the joint between two workpieces. A digital storage oscilloscope (DSO) is an oscilloscope which stores and analyses the input signal digitally rather than using analog techniques. It is now the most common type of oscilloscope in use because of the advanced trigger, storage, display and measurement features which it typically provides They might be expensive for hobby DIYers but this tool is mandatory if your circuit design deals with waveforms shaping and creation.
